We turned our viral match striker post into a craft night! Gather your friends to make their own match strikers. We supplied the stickers and and a rainbow of colorful matches, plus we were able to find a set of eight vintage toothpick holders on Etsy. Your friends can bring their own vessels, too! We’ve seen people get very creative with what they can turn into match strikers.
The striker stickers come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors. We used 1 inch round stickers and 0.5 inch x 2 inch rectangular stickers in the honeycomb pattern. You can also cut the stickers into different sizes as needed. Simply peel and stick the striker sticker on your vessel. We recommend putting it on the bottom or the back, so it’s out of sight when displayed.
For the matches, we used 4 inch matches in a variety of colors. We wanted the matches to stick out from the top of the holder for a more dramatic look. We’ve also used the standard 2 inch matches if you don’t want them to stick out from the top. We love how all the matches look together, and it’s fun to pick which colors to use. Choose colors that match your space or choose colors based on the season/holiday (think: orange & black for Halloween, red & green for Christmas, etc.).

Clean your vintage toothpick holder or small glass. Find the right size sticker for your vessel. We used the 1 inch circle match striker stickers. Place the striker sticker on the bottom and then add your matches.
